Vernissage „Female Warriors“ 16th March 2018

On 16th March 2018, my first ever exhibition took place at Bizco & Emily – a dream come true! On International women’s Day, Darius (the owner of the location) had called me up to ask me if I am still interested in having an exhibition together with another artist. That call was an unexpected surprise since I hadn’t heard from him in a while. He asked me if I was ready to have the Vernissage in 1 week, duration 4 weeks.

Was I ready? Hell, no! Did I still say yes? Hell, yes! 😀 And hey if you get such a call on Women’s Day when you make feminist art – you just cannot say no 😀

The next seven days, my boyfriend and I never slept more than 5 hours a day, and while working full time in our normal jobs, we managed to get this exhibition up, starting with creating this website, doing marketing (my highlights being mentioned on NDR and featured in heuteinhamburg), ordering catering, printing flyers, organizing a band, making a price list, making a concept for the exhibition, hanging up the paintings, buying champagne etc. etc. etc.

I am incredibly thankful to all the people that supported me on this journey and to everyone who came and made this a beautiful night!

What was the exhibition about? It told the story of female warriors in four stages: oppression, fight, victory and aftermath. It was both a story of female liberation and also a story of diverse human emotions depicted through females. 23 Acryl paintings.
